A Lion Amongst The Cubs..

A Lion Amongst The Cubs..

A Poem by MusicMyLife

Help my crippling soul,
I'll pay you with checks of love,
My damaged heart,
Needs to be restarted,
Like a stubborn engine,
I needs to start,
For the sake of my art.

My whole lookout,
Has been severed,
The gun has been delivered,
Should I shoot,
Or I could stay alive,
I could thrive,
Become someone,
In a world so deprived.

Does the community see me,
As a man of order,
Or do they see me as a man full of weakness,
I seek,
To cross the border,
To find light away from the bleakness.

My heart forces the blood through the veins,
I feel faint,
Disjointed,
From this land,
My ambitions regarded as waste,
In the gutters of bad taste.

Full of dreams that can't be shared,
Because there locked behind a door in my mind,
I can't decide,
If I want to rely on my demons,
Or rely on a person I called my love,
Years ago,
A lion amongst the cubs.
