Nathan's Poem

Nathan's Poem

A Poem by WrittenInStone24

Shackles left shattered at my feet,

Freedom has now come to me.

God’s face is in the shining light,

Calling me to come tonight.

But I’m not sure I want to go,

I keep telling God no.

I see the tears on their faces,

No I’m not ready to leave these places.

But God is smiling back at me,

“Listen, you do not see.”

“This is not the end, “

“I’m simply taking you to wait for them.”

“Even though you go with me,

In their lives you’ll always be.”

“Don’t worry because I’ve told them too,

I’ll come for them like I came for you.”

Nodding I took God’s hand,

Knowing this was part of the plan.

Please don’t cry, don’t shed a tear,

For soon you too will be with me here.

I’m waiting with at the door, you see,

When you arrive I’ll make sure you don’t miss me.

Life has not ended at my tomb,

I’m waiting, waiting to see you soon.
