Every Dog Has Its Day, well, beside me.

Every Dog Has Its Day, well, beside me.

A Poem by Lydia Wegner

I told my dog what I'll do today

What I think and what I'll say

I told her of the grim regret

that will flow forth any chance it may get

and of my lonliness and despair

whenever he is standing there

the anger and the spite I'll hone-

and I wonder why I am alone?-

I told my hound this all today,

yet still on the ground did she stay.

awesome I actually like this one someone who truly know heartache and loneliness ..."I told her of the grim regret that will flow forth any chance it may get love that line and know exactly what you mean ...althoug h I think if you took out the word may it would flow a little nicer...but that doesn't take away from the quite power of the statement

This was an intriguingly touching imaginary conversation with a loved one. I loved it's profound simplicity. I also read your profile. It was beautifully written, and honest. I would bet my life you will find love. It may come after several broken hearts, the way mine did. I want to read one of your stories, because you did so much with this short poem. Great write. Rain..
