Always rememberedA Poem by Musengi Confidencei write this poem on the remembrance to my father who passed away in a tragic accident.Remembrance for my good days My days with my pillar of life My adviser who cared for me more than anyone; He used to have love that was relatively equivalent to the Father in Heaven Provided his family with the dearest protection Like the duck shielding its chicks under its wings.
He was my shield The shield that protected his family from the externalities Protected his family from bad weathers that is providing shelter No more in the world he exists May be in the supernatural he do exist But I have a million dollar question to him The man that his voice was the only voice that comforts me in times of trouble, The man who provided me with the map and the campus to life, Now my direction have gone My daddy was the best I ever seen on the world Who is going to be substitute of the best? Absolutely no one in the earth does exist.
When I’m alone with all my thoughts I heard the echoes of you voice on my ears I see you on my sight, on the comfort of your sofas with the glass of alcohol on your hand, With the Madison cigarette on your lips Sharing our experiences about what life is really about; And the time you are on my sight Tears run down my cheeks Leaving whitish ways on my dearest cheeks Pain grows each and every day other than moving to the better, I always wipe bitterly for you my daddy.
My last memory is, ‘good bye’ in Corrocco motors Masvingo Escorting your guy who was returning to Bindura University What a lovely moment it was alone with my daddy Giving advices to your beloved son, Daddy may your soul rest in peace. |
