Heaven's Littlest Angel

Heaven's Littlest Angel

A Poem by Em North
"

okay so i wrote this at literally 1:30 in the morning after a fight with my mom. its got nothing to do with the fight itself or anythin it just was somethin i'd had in my mind as an idea and i couldnt sleep anyway so i wrote...

"

With soggy wet eyes

And quivers and shakes;

A sweet lil girl lies crying awake.

Shivers and nightmares that won't go away

Ones that don’t come in the night, no the ones from her day.

She lays there her pillow covered in tears

This is not right for a girl of nine years.

With her deep green eyes and her shaggy hair

And pj's torn from too many years wear;

She curls up in her blankies, its too cold tonight

To cold and to sad with no dinner just a fight.

Dreams shattered her belief in world peace faint

Though it hurts her heart she makes no complaint.

In her small blanket and with tears on her face

She wonders why mommy thinks she’s such a disgrace.

Her innocent mind can’t make sense of it all

Daddy got mad, beat her. Made her ball.

With bruised mind and skin she closes her eyes

And awakes in a dream world of fun and surprise.

In her dream she has reached heaven's gate

There’s no line of people just a friendly face to wait.

This face welcomes her to Heaven's Pearly Gates

She smiles says thank you, sits down and waits.

They talk for a bit, the girl's happy here

No reason to cry no reason to fear.

She reaches down to the clouds at her feet

And asks if its god she is here to meet?

The old man's face lights up with a grin

"My dear you’re with him. I am god; may I let you in?"

"This place is marvelous!" she thought in her head

"I wish I weren't sleeping or that this was my bed...”

As they walked on the clouds the girl started to think

"Why am I here God? I can’t make the link"

God's face hardened for a second or two

"You deserve the best so I brought you here. Will it do?"

After looking around and thinking awhile

The girl looked to God and gave him a smile

"Its beautiful" she said "I wish I could stay"

"Well thank you my dear today's your lucky day"

She looked at him quizzically and then in fright

"No" she said "I saw no light."

God hugged the young girl of nine years of age

"My dear your true life was just too full of rage."

Your mothers words left you lost in your mind

Your fathers torment left you bruised with a sore behind

They've broken bones but not your heart

And that’s why your here you deserve this part

With that the girl smiled, she knew it was true

She'd no longer be frightened no longer be blue.

In the cool morning her body they'd find

In her small blankie, she was one of a kind.

Curled up green soggy eyes and a smile

She passed on and discovered happiness’ file

Night mares were gone and the pain lifted

One little girl who's sweet heart was so gifted.

This is how god got his littlest angel, a child from pain

She had never lost hope she'd held tight to her thought of gain

She laughed never cried always danced in the rain

To think her parents would let this gift be washed down the drain.

It’s a shame she is gone from this world of you and I

But she's now the guardian angel who will always fly high

She gives us all hope when we want to give in

She's that voice in our heads saying "You'll Be Alright, Your Stronger Within"

When the wind bites, she's that warm embrace

And she never surrenders to sin's glowing face.

A life of misery gave her the smarts

To be Heaven's Littlest Angel who's always warmed in our hearts.

=D Love it! It is sad, to start, but then gets happier at the end. Few things can jerk around my emotions, this is now one of them. xD Great job!
I really enjoyed reading this, and if you clean it up, I think this has a great shot at being published!
