Abby's Pain

Abby's Pain

A Poem by Em North
"

not sure where this came from but once i wrote it i didnt even know what to think...

"

Abby lays awake tonight

So cold her skin feels tight.

From tears that overflow her face;

Abby’s pillow is a cold disgrace

Make-up streaming down her cheeks

And the bruises he left will stay for weeks

She tries to roll over and cries out in pain

She’d run if only tonight had no rain

But its stormy tonight and it wouldn’t be safe

The thunder threatens like his voice booming echoing late

She curls up wishing she were warm and safe.

With the thoughts in her head she is better awake

For they’d leave her in nightmares with trembles and shakes

Abby’s boyfriend has hurt her you see

Not only physically but mentally.

He tells her shes no good. he’s the best she will find

He beats her to pieces till she believes in her mind

With all the yelling and with all the pain

Abby no longer knows that life is to gain

And then with a shudder on this cold rainy night

Abby gets up and sneaks out of sight

Out through the kitchen sneaks past the back door

Opens a cupboard, her tip toes cold on the floor

She reaches up high to what she knows is hidden

Pulls out the gun he hides for good ridence

The silencer’s on and the bullets in place

Abby’s tear stricken face wishes gone from this place

Its hell in her mind and the pain wont lose sight

Her vision is blurred but this still seems right

The weapon is cold  and it burns in her hands

Then he looks at her; questions and demands

She raises this burning cold presence; the gun

And in his eyes she sees her victory’s won

He screams at her only for a second or two

The gun’s at his head and then at hers head too

As the gun shots echo a  sad story’s end

But there’s more to this story, just around the bend.

Abby was only just seventeen

Her boyfriend was Danger, he was twenty-three.

Abuse is too common to laugh at and play

For Abby it was real and it was every day.

No one should have to endure such a life

And Abby was tired of living in pain all her life

Say goodbye to Abby, in heaven she’s well

Say goodbye to her boyfriend may be rot in hell

he'll lay there forever murdered by his own words

And with him may abuse be gone from this world.

Wow, this was amazing. It creates very clear visuals and very discriptive. I couldnt stop reading it the whole time. Really great!
