Promise of loveA Poem by Murtaza KanueThis is a poem that asks questions to a lover who yearns for her splendour.
I do remember.
I yearned for Your splendour. You were my notion, You were my light My love you were My only cure I used your name In unlighted sights I do remember While travelling one night I stopped at a place High on heights Stars above me bright moon light Ignoring it all Praising your absence I was lost in your love. A moment came I was questioned Something that cannot be asked. They asked me for a reply What would I say? Blind I was I had no answer And Again and again they proved me wrong. I started to question The promises you made I believed in your words That were completely false I came to a conclusion You were not wrong It was my fault, I should have been right Now I will be alone I'll believe in peace I'll believe in life I don't need you You controlled my mind I should have known I was so blind. But not anymore! I won't let you come again I have closed the doors I feel free now I feel my soul I promise you one thing I won't yearn anymore. © 2018 Murtaza KanueAuthor's Note
