Dear Niki

You loved him then,

and you love him now.

The question is though,
does he love you?

 

He loved you then,

but does he love you now?

Doesn't it makes sense that,

if he did, he wouldn't hurt you?

 

I've seen you cry

more than a thousand tears,

and it's just not right.

 

You're too kind a girl,

too beautiful a woman

to be treated like that.

 

A boy who loved you

would kiss the ground you walk on,

a man who loved you

would give you the world.

 

Awaiting you, arms wide open,

is a boy willing to dry your tears.

A man to make you happy, chasing away

you fears is his only wish.

 

I've seen you cry

more than a thousand tears,

and it's just not right.

 

You're too kind a girl,

too beautiful a woman

to be treated like that.

 

Don't you see,

you're hurting because of him.

If he truly cared

 he wouldn't pull your heartstrings.

 

I promise you

no matter how hard it is,

the fact remains the same,

you know what to do.

to be treated like that.

 

Let go of this pain,

once and for all,

open your heart to the boy,

to the man who's devoted.

 

He's ready to give you the world,

to end your heartache and hurt.

All he's waiting for is

you to give him the sign.

He'll love you for always,

no matter what happens.

He'll be there to catch you,

everytime you fall.

 

All it will take

 is one simple phrase,

"Come boy, take my hand,

be the man that takes me away."

 

No more crying,

let the tears fade,

let the man lead you away.

too beautiful a woman

to not deserve him.

 

Let him in,

that's all it'll take.

He'll lead you away,

away from the pain.

 

Fall head over feet,

for the luckiest boy.

He's definitely the best,

the best man for the prettiest woman.

I know some of it's choppy, but I like it. I just hope Niki will realize what I'm trying to say.

I hope that more than just Niki will take good from this poem; it's a very telling and can be related to by guys and girls alike. The incremental repetition of
"I've seen you cry more than a thousand tears, and it's just not right.
You're too kind a girl, too beautiful a woman to be treated like that."
kind of makes me think of a song chorus. Two thumbs up Cassi!

The message in this is very clear. I liked this a lot, hopefully your friend sees that there are plenty of guys out there and somewhere in the crowd is someone who will make her feel like she deserves. Unique. :)

I think we all hurt loved ones unwillingly... but yes if someone keeps hurting you on purpose than that person is usually just trying to control you to make themselves feel better.
