Daddy

I wrote this for my Daddy. RIP 1962-2009 <3

Daddy

Why’d you have to go Daddy,

why’d you have to leave?

I was young, perhaps naïve,

but not anymore.

I was your little girl,

known to others as Daddy’s girl.  

Even though I rarely saw you,

you always made my heart feel as if I were a child once more,

instead of a “too” mature teenager.

When we were together, I was nobody’s but yours

and you were nobody’s but mine.

Everything your wisdom told me sank in,

every word as if I were a sponge.

Remember that night I gave Oscar a bath for the first time,

and you said “He goes crazy(you chuckled) after a bath, I think he thinks you’ve ruined

him.”

Because I do.

Now everything about you or had anything to do with you is a memory.

A painful, hurtful memory.

And I… I am nothing as I was.

I was depressed, constantly sad,

 and sinning with my “unnatural”  thoughts.

Thoughts of death, specifically suicide,

but I know that’s wrong.

It’ll be a year on the twenty-sixth of August,

did you know?

Yeah, it’s been a rough and ragged ride,

 and I miss you more everyday.

I love you Daddy, and yes I promise to always be “Daddy’s little girl,”

 but I’m better now, no need to worry.

You don’t have to worry bout me, promise.

 I will make you proud one day,

I’m your little trooper.

I Love You Daddy.

This is for my daddy. He passed away a year ago on August 26th. I miss him and love him very much.

A very loving poem to your father in memory of his passing. Very sad but these sorts of situations usually are, the anniversary of someone's passing. I think you did a fantastic job on this write.

It just breaks my heart that so many girls ur age
are missing a father be it through death or seperation,

is force to be without the father she loves so dearly..
