When You Say

This really happened.

When you say you love someone,
you shouldn't make them
feel like s**t, like they're worthless.
You shouldn't make them cry,
or break them down to nothing.

When you say "I love you"
you don't turn around and
say "our love feels different,
I look at you different,
because you said you'd save yourself for me,
and you didn't."

What the F**K.
Why in your right mind
would you say that?
It's like a punch to the stomach,
the kind that leaves you breathless,
gasping for air.

When you say "I love you"
I don't believe you,
you broke my heart,
treated me like s**t,
and fucked yourself over.

How does it feel?
Knowing your worthless to me,
knowing I won't ever let you in again,
even though I've known you my whole life,
loved you just as long.

Hey girl; I finally made it. Yay!
Unfortunately guys are somewhat pathetic, generally speaking and have extremely poor "sensitivity" skills. When we're young and the hormones are rushing through our veins, guys will say anything to get what they want, but seemingly always manage to eventually blurt out the inevitable truth about themselves with stupid and insensitive comments or even worse, become physical abusers. Yes I can believe it! Look, try not to be too disappointed in failed future encounters with "boys". After all, they are just boys still. The truth is you will most likely have a rash of failed relationships over the course of the years. I only say this because the world is moving so fast at present that everyone is afraid that their going to miss out on something, so their never really satisfied with what they have and for no good reason, might and have tossed a perfect catch to the side of the road, simply for some unknown "new reality". It's hard not to take life personally, but I can tell you it does get easier the older we get. This was a direct and pointed rebuttal to a stupid a*****e. I particularly love the the last stanza for it's somewhat vengeful yet somewhat sad quality.....

Some just don't know what love really is, to them it is only an emotion they feel very strongly when they first meet someone, but they don't realize it will pass and if they don't really care and love for that person then how they feel will change. If they really love someone then love transcends the normal feelings and finds it's way into the heart and that love is as strong as the love between mother and a child. Huge difference of loving someone and being in love with them to having love for them. Great write.
