This Evil Thing
A Poem by
Cassiopia Summers
Laying here thinking about past dreams, a shadow passes the window crosses the moonlight beams. Jumping out of bed pulling on some jeans, running shoes sneak to investigate everything's tinted in red hues. Third time this week this unknown creature has passed by me, it's time to see this thing figure out what it must be. Open the bedroom door, sneak across tip-toe over the squeaky board, down the hall in the front room, no idea what has been stored. The creature I see is a bloody mess, look of hate played on his face, I suppose my time has come, this monster will leave no trace. I knew one day this animal would come, Fate intended my last night to be filled with this giant wolf's hum. A wolf-man so large, impossible to hold up a fight, my front-room shall have to be the last welcome image to pass through my sight.

Scary poem. Never expeced a wolf-man. I don't think the running shoes would have helped either. Ha " A bloody mess" I'll bet he smelled to. I thought it was fine. Good job.

Whatever picture I had of the mysterious shadow shattered when I neared the end - and rebuilt itself to an entirely different, bloody scene that I can actually relate to myself.
It reminds me of `waking nightmares` for some reason, and a fear, subconscious or unrealized that we must eventually face or be doomed to failure or death.
A vivacious, decadent midnight treat - and in this case different is great!
