PhilosophersA Poem by KateRewriting old stuff
Philosophers humble
In their robes Confrontational In their thoughts Meandering are Questioning five toes The shape of the nose And wings of butterflies Demure but proud They clamber a step ladder To the metaphysical sky Planting frowns Between their brows As they reflect on life Philosophers in long robes Sandal-shod or bare feet walk Past market stalls In blazing Greece In a gentle ancient breeze Where gladiators fight lions A performance of grave trials Unkempt but wise They ponder matter and gods And flip ideas like coins Yet 'we know nothing' The wisest quote Concluding it all Into one succinct note © 2024 KateReviews
