Flute

Flute

A Poem by Kate

The Indian flute
Cumin turmeric
A cooking book
Rice on the hob
Curry with squash
Exotic pots
Morning chants
From megaphones blast
Over mosques lavish with colours
Blinding your sight
Carpets and rugs woven with
An infallible touch
Children adults
Barefeet on the grass
Hemmed in by
An ancient craft

Flows so well when you read it aloud, a sure sign of a good poem.
