Poignant one

Poignant one

A Poem by Kate

It breaks my heart
To see then children now grown ups
I see the memories of dresses
And the first high-heels
I taste and smell
The garden soil and gooseberries
I am that child polishing the nails
Encroaching on my hands
I spin in the room
Strewn with rings and tawdry loops
But
Hasty time pays no heed
To poignant images of past years
I stalk them mums with husbands
By their side
Their progeny reminding me
Of what we were like

About
I come from the Czech Republic. I've been studying English for several years (I am just about to finish my studies). I started writing "poetry" that doesn't rhyme in Czech, but one day I lapsed into E.. more..
