was he to die?

was he to die?

A Poem by Kate

Was he to die?
I heard him say
Was he to survive...
I meant to kiss his
Atrophied, evaporating heart

Who was I?
Next to a corpse
Of today's good cause
White as a mineral
As a cloth of baby's sob
In the coffin
Struggling and struggling
Like a puffin
In a human trapping

Who were you
Who blames who
Colonies, vermin
You conquered first
And not third
That is the gold
With which you flirt

Was she to die?
Align your askew
Twisted mind
Do not ask me how
Is an obtuse angle right?
Your truth is certainly
Not mine

A relationship's end (if it ever really was to begin) leaves a taste behind, almost an echo that continually reminds of a could-have-been. Player's haven't changed through the times - just their victims.
