"

Intended to be lyrics for a friend's song..

"
Late afternoon
Early guest sipping
The house's mad tunes
Turned away
From the door
He's eyeing the bartender's cleavage
Laughing at cheesy jokes
He's chatting her up
As if he gave a f**k

The clock on the wall
Mirroring the moon's shadow
The clock on the wall
Ticking in the rhythm
Of a late night show
The clock on the wall
Doesn't bother him at all

The time has stopped
In the middle of beats
And fancy party tricks
The time has hushed
In the middle of
A crowd crying
Out loud the song
Of the current vogue

Late afternoon
Has melted the night
Into the early hours
So sudden a leap
To the puddle
Of feeling so sluggish
So idle he is now...
Sleeping in the barmaid's arms
