Nature

Nature

A Poem by Kate

Two birds
On a willow twig
Were singing
What they witnessed underneath
Their folded wings and potbellies
Full of worms
Unearthed from dirt

Perched on a branch
They could have been
A husband and a wife
Or just two mates
Chirping away
Over a beakfull of hay

Their squat bodies
Like black beads
Snaking around a pale wrist
Were drawing a painting
So outstanding
Of a couple of silhouettes
Merging into
A cloudless evening mass
Stopping my breath
For more than a sec
Lingering in my head
As a poetic amulet
Making me deferential
To sublime nature

The greatest gift

Very lovely. The poem reveals your love for nature. Nature is really worth observing and a poem penned so beautifully makes a memory worth cherishing!
Good luck.😊
