Poetry is
my kindred spirit
Available twenty four seven
Without texture
Without any genetic structure
Sometimes loyal
Sometimes cutting corners
Shirking the duty
To be my Muse
Having no gender
Unless wishing to be
My best mate as She
Unless hankering after
My feline assets as He
Poetry is pervasive
Yet difficult to capture
Poetry like spores
Is lying dormant
Until the right climate
Intercepts a sleeping pause
Bringing forth a peculiar voice
Seeping through the darkness
Underneath my eyes closed
From an unknown source
Poetry does not
Discriminate any age
Any religion any taste
Any culture any experiment
On language nature
Poetry does not
Judge any mindset
Bully or harass
Any oddity any estrangement
But accepts all castes
All deviations
Poetry is a rebel at heart
Poetry like music
Painting, dance
Or any form of art
Plays with what is around
Purifies, heals
Dissipates qualms
When recited
It stings like sharps
Every word perfectly organised
Fluent and blunt
Poetry is cathartic
At home on Earth in Space
And if not for you
Then at least it is
For some of us
