A CakeA Poem by Kate
Oh what a beauty
On the table A marzipan coat And rosy buds closed Silver pearls aligned in rows Green leaves steady on floors One two three and four With a garden and seven dwarfs! Blue streams and waterfalls A maze for a princess In a pink dress Open the door For a child to walk Towards the hoard of love As sweet as chocolate balls Candles burning Like mother's yearning For daughter's gasping Clasping awing Dancing around a castle Baked with a treasure inside So creamy so spongy So deliciously crunchy Blow me smell me eat me Feel the warmth The affection The mother-daughter connection Tied around the cake With a ribbon taut On a beauty without a fault
