Compound

Compound

A Poem by Kate

Butterfly can fly
But butter cannot

Scratching my forehead
I am
In a puzzled bewilderment

Honeymoon
Regardless of the moon
There are a bride and a groom
Eating honey for breakfast
And leaving a trifle on a bedspread

Pineapples
Thriving without pines
In tropical ends of all lands
Their coronal fountain
Pointing out that
No apples are in sight
No smooth red skin
The teeth won´t bite
Their bodies are
layer by layer laid
With coarse green scales
In small increments

A blowjob
Hardly being an occupation
of which proud would be
A single nation
Not being a catastrophe
Always accepted passionately
Delight is sent in and up
By a recipient received and hugged
Gas and fire declined
A little explosion
Without a sound
Justifies this compound

Butterfly can fly
But butter cannot

Scratching my forehead
I am
In a puzzled bewilderment

This is full of wit.
I love words being disassembled like this. I could read more of these quite easily.
Bravo !
The only one I stumbled on was 'blowjob' - I have no frame of reference ... :(

Great write Kate.
