SilenceA Poem by Kate
Silence is my best enemy
And my sourest friend With fruits of all flavours As you can read Silence is my accomplice It's my confederate In a red dress Clinging to a dummy's shapes Broad hips And a slender waist Perfect I'm looking for my niche Under my toes Scrubbing a hotel's bathroom floors And while flushing down the waste of snooty guests I'm dreaming of better days In a big city's lascivious river banks My face sinking in neon rays Dangling above our discotheques entrance Into a better place Into sticking to our guns As our stubborn youth Is so intent on pursuing the most sophisticated goals We high-fliers Never surrender to the second best I'm climbing a scaffolding And my burning feet Are shoving me above Clouds of lice and all kinds of vices It's now enough to reach out And get hold of your sole Of your heel Sneaking out through its hole. Marry me at this height Silvered with a panoramic dazzling light Making me feel so alive. © 2015 Kate |
