Of an aborted foetus

Of an aborted foetus

A Poem by Baldwin Mupfeki

In its unruly abode,
it cried of alien voices
unheard by earthlings
One awaited by
destiny in blood
One that hugged
'gloom' in its form,
size and degree.

To one, one earthling
that never was;
To one that was
doomed to death
by cruelty!
To one innocent soul
who received pricks
in the abode.

We answer to cruetly,
to technology
To one, one that
never lived to view
the paling horizons,
To one sheltered
in a womb that
never was;
To a foetus, one
who never lived
to see the light
of this day!‪‬‪‬
