Disposable Poem

Disposable Poem

A Poem by Mark Hurlin Shelton

These disposable Hopes
in a disposable age
oh please help me dispose
of this imposing cage

I sit all alone
in my disposable home
and call a disposable friend
on my disposable phone

and the disposable people
who will dispose me as friend
all follow the fashions of
disposable trends

My grirlfriend is disposable and likewise am I
i feel so disposed of, its making me cry
these tears I dispose
 into a disposable paper plate
of the takeaway meal
that I just ate

Oh take me away
from these takeaway times
take me to the land
where the sun always shines
and where love lasts forever
where good things will last
oh take me away, please take me, fast.

Please take me away
and recycle my soul
take me away, and make me whole

Oh if i was wise and if I was clever
I would make something to last forever.
