A Jubilation of Quietude

A Jubilation of Quietude

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

A Jubilation of Quietude

sated in this humble abode

witness to rivulets of rain

minuscule orbs,

falling

plummeting

trickling  downward

into translucent pools

from a windows chill,

arresting my gaze

my ardent stare

with a jubilation of quietude.

Perfectly lovely. I have witnessed this so many times, but have not been able to capture it so eloquently for others to enjoy. Finest poetry Kelly.

Love the way it sits on the page (visual) as well as the way it sits in the reading mind!

Thank you most kindly, Ken!
Weather - snow, flood, storm and all the other actions we Humans have to contend with 0r with which we have to contend - language and sky offerings to be taken but not ignored. We remain indifferent because like it or not, there's no holding it back.. Canute eat your heart out. Your words have a clever and concise flow.. visual and probable, deaf to cries in its myriad goings-on. Stay slave to protection but wonder in the telling, Kelly - more than first class.

'trickling downward
into translucent pools
from a windows chill,
arresting my gaze
my ardent stare
with a jubilation of quietude.'

Start as you mean to go on - a celebration of wording, Kelly

No worries, consider it a done deal ..
As 'rivulets of rain ' fall and pitter patter against window pane, how relaxing to sit inside safe & snug in solitude in one's own haven, precious moments indeed!

It's the best of all places to be when it rains! Thank you, Tom!

Your bird avatars are always a joy to see. Thank you, Pat!
I think you're just wonderful Kelly. The weather may turn but it doesn't always change for the worse (though, ha, sometimes it does). Not everyone has a bedrock to their character, the outside can and will decenter a significant part of the population on a regular basis. The mental health crisis/substance abuse epidemic in america is not likely to improve in the coming years.
