Could Byron

or Shakespeare

paraphrase the lucidity

the thundering palpitations of my heart,

the unspoken sadness

of opportunities lost

in wait.

My interpretation of your poem resonates with some of my own painful memories, I know the unspoken sadness of opportunities lost in wait. This is something I have difficulty writing of, yet here you have done it so beautifully and well with just a few lines. You have tossed us a gem.

This you cannot quite put to words. But I can feel the desperate pain in your words. Great writing

This is such a beautiful read in all its sadness; yet I’ve been told the even sad birds sing.

Such a lovely analogy. Thank you, Mary!
I don't know dear Kelly. Maybe John Donne could? Words of the heart. Hard to write down. Like reliving a old sad tale. Beautiful dance of words and thoughts my dear friend.

Thank you for the dearest of all compliments, Ken!
A softer candle dancing in this light of darkly penned lament, or lingering away on some dusty artist's country shelf I could not imagine. Could they indeed...probably not. You have a way dear Kelly...you do have a way. Well, now my day is thoroughly ruined but thank you~

Your reviews are like soup for the soul, Joseph. Thank you! xo
Tom Petty wrote, The Waiting is the Hardest Part. I often feel the same way. But it's always wise to be aware of the world around us. "We are talking about the significance of the passage of time because when you think about it there is much significance in the passage of time." Ahhh, how to write of unspoken sadness. I'm sure this was om my bucket list, which is actually a goldfish bowl of post it notes, before I found it floating on the surface one morning and flushed it out of existence.
So eloquentially, perfectoratedly, worderated! 😃

Those lost opportunities are a haunt are they not. Easy to say move on, much, much harder to do.

A beautifully wrought poem.
