Dead End Street

Dead End Street

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

Dead End Street

you’d think by now

i would’ve learned

that every attempt

to forget you

has become

a dead end street.

An emotional attachment can leave a large hole in one's self when it's taken away. How unfortunate that most of us will experience that kind of pain sometime in our lives. Very strong words, my friend.

I am so glad to see you are back and feeling better Kelly. It is great to read you again. This poem, like all of your other poems, is so very profound and beautifully written. Viewing unrequited love as a dead end street is brilliant and strikes right to the heart of it.

Some of us are meant to suffer those streets during life, avoiding them stings, the streets seem endless. Yes? However long or brief your poems are, your emotions float to the surface and readers nod, understanding if not knowing what or how you personally feel. Emotionally and very finely worded, Kelly.

Always ready to exchange a smile or few, Kelly. :)
Wow, short and powerful even if it does echo a sort of emotional surrender. Sometimes it's easier to go with the flow than to swim against the current. I like it. F.
