The Art of Woo

The Art of Woo

I was never a pearl kind of girl.

Always wore jeans

with holes in the knees.

I’m not beyond giving flowers to.

Give me a man who still can woo.

I wonder anymore if that is even something anyone considers...can you text woo? Whatever happened to opening doors, telling her how beautiful she looks, having a rose delivered when she least expects it, writing her a poem...whatever happened to romance? Here's hoping all of your days are filled with woo and romance.

Just what is the femme form of chivalry, I'm too lazy this Friday afternoon to go look up, though I do belive this beautiful brevity comes close in good old fashioned, romantic brevity, kudos Kelly! 😋

And what a stunning picture atop this alluring write!

Dear Kelly. We need someone to woo us. I tell the young ones. We must excite the mind first than the body. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry my dear friend.

You are welcome dear Kelly.
Dear Kelly,

At the outset, I simply adored the title of the poem, as the word, 'woo' is so similar in sound to 'voodoo' and woo and voodoo both involve magic....Its amazing!

The poem presents a beautiful challenge. A man who still has the art of woo. Thinking about it, I feel that if such men have become a rarity, its solely because the cards are now stacked against them. We women wanted equality, we got it. We cannot have it both ways, perhaps...? But that's just my view. I loved the poem absolutely and your words will stay with me.

I'm a strong advocate for a man who wants to honor a woman and treat her like a lady. May it never .. read more
nice to see there are still women who want to be wooed.
Casual is good, no expectations is good.
But let a man be a man...it's his nature to give to the one he cares about.
and flowers are one way to express that.
nothing like jeans with holes in the knees....love them, and this poem.

It's good to know chivalry is alive and well. Thank you, Jacob!
sounds like a wine and candles sort of girl. soft and telling. she's romantic, delicate, strong, independent and knows what she wants! ... :)

Nice, Kelly.
I like the way you used indentations-reminds me of Pound’s poetry, like asides spoken to the audience.

Works every time. I still got it 😊
The first line is ingrained in my mind, has been for years. It's sad that "woo" has to be an art, since so few seem to practice it anymore. Worse, they woo for a short while and then seemingly forget the art of woo. Love this!
