A Gibbous Moon

 

infatuated am i

besotted,  

beguiled

by a waning gibbous moon

 

its convex shape

makes lucent the night

orchestrating a galaxy of stars

in a celestial dance

 

my heart with wild abandon, beats

erratically,

tempestuously

in sweet anticipation of you

 

meet me there

when night is nigh

i’ll be wearing moonlight in my hair

‘neath a gibbous moon.

I was reading up on the phases of the moon, wondering how the gibbous moon came to be, and fell in love with "gibbous". It sounded romantic to me, so that's pretty much where my inspiration came from. Thanks so much, Sami!

Deal! But if I don't turn up, I've probably went to the gibbons moon, because I didn't know what a gibbous was when I first heard that word, so as a kid does I changed it to a word I knew and it kinda stuck. I was in my late 30's at the time.
So, still up for that date? 😊
