A Gibbous Moon

A Gibbous Moon

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

A Gibbous Moon

infatuated am i

besotted,

beguiled

by a waning gibbous moon

its convex shape

makes lucent the night

orchestrating a galaxy of stars

in a celestial dance

my heart with wild abandon, beats

erratically,

tempestuously

in sweet anticipation of you

meet me there

when night is nigh

i’ll be wearing moonlight in my hair

‘neath a gibbous moon.

Thank you most kindly, Andra. Sometimes the image gives me everything I need.
dear Kelly... we have been sleeping in an upstairs Observatory of a
View of the Moon and Venus every night. It is comforting to know
we have so much Light as the Stars dance and twinkle in celestial
sighs. Your poetry is part of our World where anything is possible if we

This a beautiful imagery with words. Perfectly elegant and written with the care a soft caress. Well done.

So wonderful, so beautiful dear Kelly.
"meet me there
when night is nigh

I adored the above lines. We do need adventure and the taste of temptation. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry. I will read again.

Good to have you here, Frankie. Thank you!
Silver, sensual and moonlight lovely. I see this as a moon making the night daylight bright and equally the love story that goes with it.

With many regards to you, thank you, Ken!
Whew! This was just steamy and sensual. And the underlying nuance makes it the more so. There's something incredibly sexy about a topic carefully and delicately expressed as opposed to a bold and direct crudeness; just as a woman may be more sexy when scantily attired than when completely naked. This was pleasantly and pleasingly wrought. I enjoyed the read. F.

romantic as you my friend! ;) there is something about a gibbous moon ... it's undecided .. unclear but still full of light .. yours is waning .. i find that very interesting .. she is there with moon lit hair .. a beauty in herself .. i wonder if she has a feeling her romance may be dimming ;) but the night and she and the moon are all aligned .. waiting ...

ps. did you know that gibbous is a Latin based word that means "hump" ? :)))))))))))))))) love and joy always!

Playful, inviting, and still never losing a step of temptation. "I'll be wearing moonlight in my hair". What a line! Great piece!
