we often times come to terms with the punishment we inflict on ourselves and find comfort in being alone but the heart still travels places even when our feet do not follow

An eloquent review, Ciara...lovely worded. Thank you!
Gorgeous photo and exquisite write dear Kelly. You beautifully express the metaphor of loneliness in broken love, as compared to a desolate sea. Great imagery throughout- half moon representing one lover alone seemingly by choice. Haunting, elusive, perfect vignette.

Never a detail will escape you! Thank you, my wondrous friend!
The ocean somehow felt so peaceful here. The course though unsure, yet somehow healing, fulfilling. The heart is remaining in absolution. It's a lonely yet good place to be because all good things begin from absolution. The distance we place between us and those we once loved can be so therapeutic. I wish the poet an ocean full of joy and serenity. So beautifully penned and so relatable are your words.

For me too, dear Kelly!
Wishing you much beauty and joy today and everyday.
This reminds me a bit of the old woman at the end of the movie Titanic. "searching for an absolution that never comes." I could be wrong about that quote. :)
We often look back with regret at things we did down the road. That gulf can grow bigger and bigger if we let it. Some things just have to be let go.

Thank you for that, Tim. And I believe you're right about the quote. It's very haunting, very hard to forget the context for which it was spoken.
Some people are made for the ocean. Some people just need to vacation at said ocean. Some people are not sea worthy and will not be able to contemplate their place in this world unless it's in context to another. The will never even visit the ocean. Wonderful Kelly.
with absolute surgical precision, just 5 slicing lines, you manage to sum up the ache and resolution one feels upon the end of something, someone. What else can I say but this is a master's stroke Kelly
