And yet you need only a few words to capture this feeling ❄❄

dearest Kelly... Snow must be feathers from Angel wings as
prayers fall on Earth to give the appearance of a New Birth.
Suddenly without warning... Smoke rises in Chimneys and
Teakettles whistle. Keeping Cozy with Kittens purring...
watching Snow flurries. Lo, Winter is here on the East Coast and in-between.
Warm thoughts and Snicker-doodles a la Carte. be blessed, gently, Pat

Don't allow the pedants and the naysayers to undermine yr Wonderful Work Kelly. Another short form miniaturist 'masterpiece' here. Excellent ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Your kindness overwhelms me, thank you, my friend!
yes imagine an idiom. superb poem Kelly, the image is one I will carry about with me for a spell, until it lands somewhere in my own work I suspect.
2 little side notes: 1) strictly speaking, its not Eskimos but the Aleut you are thinking of: from the Franz Boas quote. 2) the tongue that actually has the most words for snow, or snowish effects is not the Aleut. In fact, the contest isn't even close. With at least 400 words the Scots win hands down.
all that said, I loved the read

Two notes well taken. I would love to read those 400 words, wouldn't you? Thank you, Ken!
It is we who must place names on things even things we don’t in understand. The Romans had many forms for the word “or”. The Greeks for love. Then snowflakes don’t write poetry.

Perhaps in some poetic form, they actual do! Thank you, Winston!
I like this. Especially the effortlessness....and yet the strong effect it ends up having. This write is creative and beautiful. And perfect for this week's snowfall too. Well done.

That's ok, I'm still acclimating myself to the colder temps here on the east coast. I'll go ballistic when the snow starts to fall. I have a balcony that overlooks a canopy of trees, and the view is simply breathtaking. Thank you most kindly, Frankie! Stay warm and have a most wonderful holiday season!
Perhaps getting so hung up on the first line has caused some people to miss the beauty in this poem; how unfortunate for them.
I don't have a lot of experience with snow and as such it has always been absolutely fascinating and beautiful to me. I'll never forget the moment I first woke up to see it and how shocking it was to find it there since indeed it did make no sound while it was falling. Thank you for sharing this with us.
