Swept away by time, all those things once cherished. The moments perhaps live somewhere in our memories yet the rest is all done and dusted. Time is so forcefull. It cares for no one's tears.

A melancholy beauty if there ever was one. These scenes, most found in the rear-view mirror truly do touch the heart in many different ways. Little tidbits of life, memories, moments that still remain in our minds. This was wonderful. I enjoyed this a lot.

Thank you most kindly, Will. It's good to have your presence here!
I love the lines, the scars the wrinkles, and the mars:) show me the beauty marks of grace in the endure and I will paint a most resplendent treatise, it is an essential ingredient to my ink formula
poem and pic are perfect for each other, Legs! love the pauses and rhyme .. neither set in stone, so to speak; but they flow sublimely melancholy with your words. the turn in your closing line is so soft .. before that it could be the joys of two people aging together in a deep bond of love and life experienced together .. the willow says something different .. we can not live long and not experience loss; but those of deep commitment and love sting deep for a long time .. such a beautiful poem ... thanks so much for sharing and the heads up ;) Happy Thanksgiving my friend!

Beautifully crafted metaphor of aging and the melancholy that the ride nears its end.

Softly sad and graciously graceful is the exquisite willow, as you deftly describe for us in this beautiful write dear Kelly. You show us her melancholy and feminine mystique…your gorgeous imagery and image give us a mossy, shaded seat surrounded by her bowing branches. Yes, you are so brilliant to capture in her visage the passing of time and tides and cycles of joy and grief and remembrance. Great rhyme, flow, font, form, language, alliteration. Great reference to Stephen King. Great write! Happy, Blessed, Healthy, Peaceful Holidays Wished To You My Friend!

This is so beautiful Kelly. The willow tree has long been one of my favorites. It seems to be the perfect symbol for the nation and world as a whole as we struggle to keep our sanity amid the chaos. Simply loved it dear friend.

dearest Kelly… your poem is very timely.. as we Weep quietly among the Sojourners … where our Leader invited them here… no accounting for their coming across the Border… Our Leader dreams of being Robin Hood. Amen. Pat

Thank you for your insight, Pat.. and the warmth it brings!
The willow does weep and I have seen many by the river doing just that. It is the most graceful of trees and the movement of those long tresses always reminds me of a young girl's hair teased by the breeze. There is much beauty in melancholy Kelly, and that is where you took me this morning. Hope you are keeping well.
