by the third drink

they’re reapplying their lipstick,

balancing their wit and equilibrium

on stiletto heels.

Sounds delightful. I have had great relaxed fun in cozy bars over the years. 😃

priorities lolol. The whole world spins on those heels; I don’t care what anyone says.

Brief but, succinct. Yep, by the 3rd drink it would be time to reapply the lipstick. Depending on the drink, they would need to balance their equilibrium...especially in stiletto heels. Nice read. Thank you, Temp

You’re welcome.
I think they need to reapply their sanity....
I am sure we drive them nuts.
And surely think we knock them over with our wit....when the truth is
we just talk them to death.

What a vivid flow of thought... one can hear the murmuring voices... the music playing... can smell the fragrance of the liquor... can feel the energies drifting... like a painting come to life.

...that's some insight, my friend. Love "the energies drifting." Hope this finds you well!
I love this one Kelly. In just a few words who have painted a complete picture. It takes me back a million years to when I was young but I don’t think I could have ever pulled off stiletto heels. :-)

I very much enjoyed this one. I see it. I can find my self in a bar and am sure I can see this one the face of someone their. Truly I feel I can relate- minus the lipstick and stilettos. The balancing act can be hard.

A very good minimalist poem... with lots of color and images. I can picture this in my mind's eye very well.
Small read, large content.
Well done,

You're very welcome Kelly!
I love this visual, and I have to admit I enjoy the thought of it as well. Anticipation is key and the cocktails necessary at times to bolster courage. But when it gets past the window of opportunity (it can shut really fast) you have to be on your game. A bit of really well written social commentary, the kind that can be sharply satisfying or debilitatingly frustrating. Its been a hot minute, I am so glad to see writing from you!

Am I able to comment on this a mere male? All I can say is that it hits so many spots in its brief length. As sharp as the mentioned stilletos.
