Heh, this is awesome! Another one where in a few words and concrete images you perfectly capture a character, scene and universal feeling. Love it!

I wouldn't want to be that ex.... but seriously, this short piece says a lot about someone's ex; and talking and drinking at the same time about Shakespeare; I wonder what they said? Best, Betty

I suppose it's really bad if by the third drink you are quoting yourself:?

Hi Kelly:) I honestly don’t know how I survived thus far:/ but I’m still going:)
Terse....that word has a bad connotation..... but it simply means straight to the point....no flowery words in between....I write quick poems too....I drink a few beers too to get up enough courage to go talk to a girl....you could get your heart ripped out by you girls....it is not as easy as you think.....stars and flowers atcha....✨💐
I think you are being too kind to drunks who these days resort to violence more often than not. However having said that there are a few who are entertaining, the humorous drunk, the wouldn't hurt a fly drunk and the philosophical drunk. Great brevity, nicely written.

now that is just weird, men in bars quoting Shakespeare.... that bar must be called "Poet's Bar(d) and Grill" and has an open mic of Shakespearian quotes instead of karioke.... at any rate Kelly, men talking about your ex, may not be the best night out.... though I would think drunk men into Shakespeare would be hilarious.... did you say this was a comedy club??? lol.... anyway, "to be or not to be, thy drink runith over" fair maidden... hic...

I was saying how men in bars sometimes exhibit the eccentricities of a woman's ex...by the third drink. I used to work in a bar, so I've pretty much heard it all. So good to see you on my page! Hope you're doing well through this new normal we're all adjusting to. Stay safe, my friend!

it is good to read you again, even if I get the poem wrong.... I'm good Kelly, hope you are as well...
Clever and tells my sex just where to get off in a very humourous and telling way. Not that I associate myself with such leeches at my age. But I must admit way back when. But then I was generally too nervous to talk to anyone let alone a woman in a bar. So pithy and clever.

I don't think you stand alone, as far as being nervous about approaching women in a bar. We women have turned the tables though, and are approaching YOU! How does that make you feel? Oh, before I forget, I've been meaning to ask you what's the name of your horse, the one in your avatar. What a beauty.

ahahahaha ... never been one to much hang out in bars once I passed the age of 20 something .. this cracks me up ... we, men sure do think much of ourselves even without drink ... but down three and sitting on the bar stool, hitting on women, we set ourselves up to a sucker punch .. short and to the point .. instant setting and scene and action in me nog .. nice job Legs ... your on top! ;)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Hello dear Kelly and once. I was the bar room poet. I had fans and they loved the Hemingway poet who could drink, dance and lie. I enjoyed the poem and thank you dear friend for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
