Bathtub Poetry

Bathtub Poetry

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

bathtub poetry

love drenched words

and a bottle of pinot noir

exasperate salted wounds,

regurgitating unfinished verses

of bathtub poetry.

one of my own renewing therapies is a steaming hot bath with bubbles and/or a long soak in a hot tub .. so your title conjured nothing but relaxing oblivion ... i was surprised then by the sadness that overwhelmed your speaker ... its very emotive and the imaging made easy ... as i am writing this review .. i do recall drowning a few salty wounds ... how could i forget .. and i added a hot tottie made with Jameson whiskey and chamomile tea ... a touch of honey ... stirred lightly .. not shaken ;)) so happy to see you Legs! and thatnk you for letting me know ... peace sister! do be careful and stay well

A sad little piece of brevity Kelly. The bath tub is always a good place to reflect, especially with a glass of wine and a ciggie. You set the mood and the imagery just stands out of the page. Hope you are keeping safe and well.

I've missed you, Mary. It warms my heart having you here. Thank you!
Five lines that conjure up many scenarios ... perhaps a half empty glass of wine on the edge of the tub and smoke rings slowly dissipating in the air ... and scented candles lit while pondering those unfinished verses.

So many places to go with this one Kelly.
It sets a mood at once
peaceful and yet melancholy.

Well done.

Did your mother never tell you never to smoke! I could never write in the bath as the pages simply get saturated. You capture an image in this that evokes scents of sadness and loss and things undone. Quite emotive verse Kelly.

i quit smoking in 2009, but I am sure there must be a couple of half-smoked 100's still around somewhere...

oh yes, in my memory....I have lots of unfinished verse...from unfinished relationships...
they always seem to cut off in the middle...
I think I need a cold shower rather than a bath.
