Bathtub Poetry

Bathtub Poetry

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

bathtub poetry

love drenched words

and a bottle of pinot noir

exasperate salted wounds,

regurgitating unfinished verses

of bathtub poetry.

Bubbles galore... as scented Candles glow in the atmosphere where dreams burst into visions of softly falling snow of pure poetry as only a Mistress of Mischief can orchestrate where others dance and dream of Fir trees with feathered birds and tweets of hidden gifts of
Love and abiding adoration. Merriest Christmas
Blessings... tenderly, Pat

Upon reading this exquisite poem the first thing that came to mind was, Bed, Bath, and Beyond . . . you know, because after luxuriating for a time in your bath, your fondness for high thread counts entices you to your bed, where no doubt your bottle of red warmly resides on your nightstand, its sensuous fermentations easing your body and mind beyond the mundanities of your day. Wishing you well, always.

Pinot and bath- a comforting cleansing I would say dear Kelly! A time to self- and whatever it dredges up can be dismissed in a pop of a bubble (either soap or wine!). Amazing how skillfully and precisely you can paint a scene in the exactly right amount of words! Love the artwork and poem my friend.

I love how you paint this in highly bittersweet tones. It may not always be a fluffy & sudsy soaking, but however it turns out, it's great to be submerged in poetry! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

...submerged in poetry, indeed. I like that, Margie. Thank you!
As far as pairing goes wine and bath would be perfect for reciting poetry particularly Shakespeare as is the pairing of shower and wine perfect for singing. Exquisite poetry Kelly.

Thank you, Andrew! So good to see you!
The pleasure of the bath and wine can take us to wondrous places... And the not so wonderful alleyway of echoes from the salted wounds of the past.
Either way, your perfect description resonates.
