Metaphorically Speaking

Metaphorically Speaking

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

...a part of who I am

Metaphorically Speaking

I am a poet.

Metaphorically speaking ,

I bleed muted words

and drink the moon.

Kelly, first I apologize for such a late review. I read this one shortly after you posted it and thought I’d left a review.

Yes, you are a poet! And, in these few words capture the magic of poetry, the silent pain we bleed onto pages, redeemed later with the moon’s distant influence. A literal success, I say.

I love the combination of Title and content of this beautiful little poem.
You can not say "Metaphorically speaking, i drink the moon". That is just brilliant beyond anything. These three four lines going to have my attention occupied for a long time now.
"Metaphorically speaking, i have a rainbow in my heart". This is that good.

As the moon affects the tides, she affects the poet's heart. We could never witness such beauty and not be affected, bleeding muted words. Lovely!

Wow.............This expresses imposter syndrome challenged and yet the feeling that expression is normal and 'gender neutral' That final 'added' line is sadly wonderful Kelly.
