it’s nearing autumn,

already the wind is turning

 

my cat sleeps insouciantly curled

at the foot of the bed

 

where tonight a blanket will lay

in a horizontal fold.

The small telltale signs of the approach of autumn both endearing and with just a hint of resignation as we say farewell to those long leisurely days of summer. I can almost picture you walking along the beach somewhere with jeans rolled up and cradling a cuppa Joe in your hands :-) You have a gift for allowing one’s imagination to run.
