We watched a special about Robert that was very interesting and how it all came together.
Beautifuly sad in the reflections on a once perfect script as the protagonist recalls the imperfections she tollerated only to loose him in the end. Yet she still replays the old movies in her heart. So nicely written Kelly.
ahh, Bogie and Bergman - can't get much more classic than that along with the black and white. a different age. both the film and your words are timeless. i can just hear those plane engines. thanks for 'playing it again' for us. awesome write. "Here's looking at you Kid" ... :)

I've got my potato chip in mouth as I speak! ; ) ...thanks, Pete!
Looking back to the way it was, rather than looking forward to the unknown, might, some would argue, be a protest against progress. Not so, say I; we all need a little sweet nostalgia in our life do we not.
Lovely sense and feel to this; third verse in particular is quite striking, could be taken straight from a film noir script.

"Go ahead and play it Sam, if she can take it, so can i"
this has that feel to it...
and yet the reckless abandon of a pure physical burst of passion as well.
almost as if that isn't quite enough...two people, lovers, who just burn out emotionally...even if the stains are still there.
love this write, Kelly...
you have such a distinctive voice.

Yes, Kelly, definitely a film noir feel to it. The old black and whites had a certain feel to them that was at once immediate and yet unlike our lives of colour. Fedoras and overcoats and fog and Nazis...does it get any better...well, maybe christening every room would do it...ah, the good old days. ;>{}
A good write, Kelly.

I love that fashion on men, of fedoras and long overcoats. Thanks so much, Ted!
