A Modern Day CinderellaA Poem by Kelly ScheppersA Modern
Day Cinderella I was all about the pencil skirt. With my hair in a chignon and a tendril or two intercepting the linear drop of an earring. On numerous occasions I’d treat myself to café lunches at noon, of chicken rosemary with an almond pilaf and a goblet of a red Zinfandel. I’d sit in a corner booth, peering at the comings and goings of merchants while unpretentiously flirting with the gentleman in a guise of gray. A modern day Cinderella, am
I. Nestled here in my
over-sized chair. With my hair in a scrunchie and a tendril or two clinging to the opening of a terry cloth robe… as I read from the pages of a Harlequin romance, sipping my herbal teas till noon. © 2019 Kelly ScheppersReviews
