Reminiscent Tears

Reminiscent Tears

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers
"

...in memory of a friend

"

Reminiscent Tears

Ashes to ashes

dust to dust

my heart lies

mortally wounded by

reminiscent tears.

in loving memory of Tony

A quote from Hemingway reads, "No one you love is ever truly lost." I've taken solace in those words today.

Brave of you to post your pain, the loss of a heart obviously dear to you. My thoughts and prayers I send to you. I know this to be true that when a heart is broken the mending of it makes it stronger. Yours will too.

I'm at a loss, in my attempts to fill the void. If I could just get past that...thanks so much, Pet.. read more
At times like this there are really no words that can truly express the pain and void left when someone so dear is lost. Your poem speaks volumes though and I want you to know that I am thinking of you at this time praying that each day the pain lessens and is forever replaced with happy memories. He sounds like such a wonderful man!

Thank you most kindly, Dara. My heart is on the mend!
I'm sorry for your loss, which feels so palpable in your poem. Aside from the seemingly true-to-life message of reeling from a loss . . . I just have to say that your details are so well chosen to be able to convey a fulsome message in so few words. You are one of the best at doing short poems this way at the cafe. It's the essence of short poems, not leaving the reader wanting more or wondering what exactly what that about? (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

It hurts beyond words, and yet your words Kelly, go beyond the pain of missing him to the love and tenderness that will always reside in your heart... I am so sorry for your loss...

Indeed a sad piece and I am sorry you have lost someone meaningful. Hemingway was right though they live on in your memories and in your heart forever.
