Cold Pizza

sitting on the floor

cross legged playing solitaire

no spades, cold pizza.

i actually like eating cold pizza as well...it is great...and you brought me back with this one...I made pizzas for 30 years back in the seventies, eighties and nineties...worked at the same place for 27 of them...
good combo you have here with the solitaire.

I guess it could have been beer and pizza, oh well...thanks so much, Patricia!
There are certain scenes that are so recognizable & you've captured one here. I love how this can be an allegory for time spent in solitude (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Wow! This response is also a stunning share adding a hundred more dimensions to your poem!
With people stuff, it's a Senryu, Honey, and a most fetching one, at that! 🌟
I LOVE the vivid, metaphorical and/or sly timbre you always fit into your pieces, ever-so craftily (check L2 for count and spelling).
The imagery alone makes this one sheer brilliance … I can plainly see You. ; )
Playing alone, with cold pizza, is definitely an individual, lonely option; but, with no spades, definitely a losing proposition.
One can only imagine what led-up to this scenario, and my imagination is quite busy … LOL!

Cute, fun, and sad (for me), all at the same time, but never boring when it comes from your creative pen.
Make mine hot, with loads of cheese and pepperoni … thanks, Kelly! ⁓ Richard 🍃

Thank you most kindly, Tom!
I can't bear cold pizza... as disappointing as 'no spades'! But I can take the point of your neat haiku, which makes up for it..

You are one of my many joys, Jibey...thank you!
You find a way to make the singular form of the haiku speak so much, revealing one night's quiet world. Somehow you even found a way to make cold pizza seem just a little warmer with you near.

Many thanks, Cherrie!
I am not a cold pizza lover. That being said, (why do people say, "that being said," when they've just previously said that?) your cold slice warmed my heart. Sure, you got no spades but you do have plenty of heart(s). And the benefit of sitting on the floor means you've nowhere else to go, but UP! Your entry here brought a reminiscent tear to my eye, fortunately, I had a haikuchief nearby.

I do too. Hawaiian especially. This takes me back to the early days when I just moved out and ordered pizza often, content with the freedom of having my own place.

You gave a whole new vibe to this, Ana. Thank you!
Chock full of atmosphere. Used to have cold pizza for breakfast when at Uni. Just an aside.
