A January of Snows

A January of Snows

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers
"

...still feeling the chill of winter

"

A January of Snows

syllables and nouns

leap from my throat

in an ebullient attempt

to define

a love

more beautiful than

a January of snows.

Dear Kelly. You live in San Diego. I did like the photo and words and I wish I lived in San Diego. Beautiful place and the Pacific. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Thank you, Bad Bunny. I am deeply flattered!
That is difficult when you are in the midst of January snows and more so as the harbingers of spring come calling. I feel like this should be made into a winter stamp for every letter that the post office delivers. It would remind people that there is beauty in winter and that those who can express it in a positive light are surely the happiest people on the planet. Great write!!!

If there is not a love more beautiful than January snows, then it is not worth putting up with winter.
Well written Kelly and the burst of red in the photo against the grey background pops with a warmth to heat the blood.

P.S. Still not keen on the cold weather though.

A good write.

not a problem
wicked piece, Kelly. a semantically pleasing memory of January and of love that is as pure as the snow the moment when it is falling.
I love brevity, as you know...
a few lines...that take us places and what is in between the lines is rich.
