A mourning dove coos

Its mellifluous sound, lulls

like a distant train.

My son Robert was born in 1970. Later in life he married Leilani and has two daughters Shannah who is in first grade and
Kahless who is in preschool. Bob is now 48 yrs old. Leilani is younger. They live in Utah. They all four will visit us in the Spring. You know I love birds and mourning doves are special to me. With love, Pat

Nice. I like how your mind works Kelly. Even from a distance, hearing them warble can make you think you feel the vibrations. Now that I think about it, its one of the most soothing of sounds. Some of my neighbours have chickens... Not such a nice sound :)

isn't it funny? the sound of a train so near can be disturbing...but the sound of a distant one is soothing.

Yes, the photo is mine, and that's the male dove. He takes the day shift protecting the eggs and the female takes the night. They can stay like that for hours on end. Thanks, Dave!
