A Cacophony of Silence
A Poem by Kelly Scheppers
A Cacophony of Silence notes of cashmere and languid sips of Chardonnay complement the evening
shade of another October, where a cacophony of
silence strums the musicality
of you

A pleasing cameo of a quiet, relaxed evening... hinting at so much more. I wanted 'complimentary to be 'complementary' - the idea of the wine going so well with the evening shade seemed so apt. As for 'cacophony'... it disturbed me - no doubt intended. Was it there to tell me that the relationship with 'you' was strained - a discordant noise penetrating the surface silence? Maybe that was the intended paradox. It certainly spoke to me of familiar times of hope and disappointment.

I tuned into that, in writing this piece. As for your idea about the word change, you are absolutely right...it does indeed make a remarkable difference, so let me extend a most grateful thank you for that. I am absolutely thrilled you enjoyed it!

"Dichotomy" is one I'm working with right now. Some words are simply challenging, don't you think? Thank you for acknowledging the poem I wrote for John. I just wanted it to be something for people to reflect upon, without feeling the need to comment. You are most kind to acknowledge it. Thank you!

I have a list of them actually, the words that I want to write a poem around. It gets the wheels going in my brain, and that's always a good thing, right? What a pleasure it is having you here on my page, Pete. Thank you, my patriot friend! ; )
