Boy, I had one of those days yesterday and feel like your words were directed right at me. This one is a keeper for me to be read often as a reminder that it is ok to feel this way. And as we live and breathe we always know that sun will eventually shine. I consider this a wonderful 'Kellyism" to be shared and printed on one's mind. Thank you!
There are many who do not enjoy their own company. I do, so it doesn't matter to me whether I have time on my own. I enjoy my own space, as I enjoy rainfall. Refreshing and the beauty and sound of it are delightful. Raindrops are sheer beauty, especially when they are caught in sunlight.
Lovely words Kelly and images too. Your readers will have a variety of responses for you.

It's interesting, seeing the response from readers. Thank you, Chris!
Like Robert, I read this while rain, thunder and lightening were peacefully making chorus outside my home. I am a longtime lover of the rain and days like these, so this poetry was uplifting to my soul. I think rain is refreshing, renewing, peaceful, beautiful and balancing... and also I’d rather enjoy it alone.. or with a love in bed.. but definitely not with a bunch of people or amid a bunch of noise of the busy, chaotic shuffle of modern life. I’d much rather relax, cozy up, have a nice cup of coffee or tea and just stare at the rain, or open a window and listen to its beautiful light-footed tap dance, breathe in that fresh, earthy smell... read a good book with musty, vintage pages or write... or watch Singing in the Rain!!!
Either way, don’t put me near a bunch of people who complain about the rain or who get in pissy moods due to the rain..

Oh I feel the same way!! So happy my words resonated. :) Enjoy your day Kelly
Mmm rain is a lovely weather and this one when I read it feels has a touch of gloominess of missing the sunshine...maybe ...with a cup of tea/ coffee... we still can enjoy our alone time... enjoying the rain... .. sometime with kid...I do enjoy such time... if I get to drink my tea peacefully I feel it's a blessing from heaven ;)
I notice that your other reviewers saw this as a melancholy poem. I, on the other hand, found it to be a celebration of aloneness. I know I’ve gotten completely comfortable being alone when I can feel your lyrical lines as an interesting mix of what life always has to offer, if we stay open to the possibilities. Aloneness shouldn’t be an assumed bummer, as it is for many. Very intriguing & thought-provoking way to pique our imaginations! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

It can be melancholy to stand at a window and watch it rain especially if you are completely alone.. I loved this poem and the picture pulled me into the image of your words... You find a way to make the most of your poems and I keep finding them intriguing... Thanks for sharing Kelly

Kelly, I read this poem as rain painted my library window. So, it was the perfect mood to read your latest work. The photo you paired with your poem also captured me (as always). Two potted plants, separated by three green apples, one apple leaning, all posed by the window, perhaps waiting for the sun to warm and nourish them. Your words and the photo create a somber but peaceful mood and place. Always enjoyable to read your poetry.

Exquisite image, presentation, font, color and verse...tracing a rivulet of rain on a damp window with a single finger...your eloquent words are graceful, romantic, lilting...a daydream of love watered and waiting to bloom, “a love seeks to be”. And it will be.

Your reviews are the best, and most of which I always look forward to. Thank you, Annette!
When clouds promise rain, what a pleasant flow and feeling that one phrase gives. This is wisdom served on a cloud.
