the world is cold…

tomorrow belongs

to no one…

there is more good

than evil…

time is

effortlessly fleeting.

 

 

Dare

to pray

on bended knee…

to perpetuate

humanity

and kindness…

to imagine

a better world…

to forgive

the unforgiven.

dear Kelly... I find myself looking at the immigrants in town with their children, and I realize they are for the most part wonderful parents and have feeling the same as we do. Many of them have learned English quite well.

I adore this poem and have saved it for future reading. The title gives nothing away for what the reader is exposed to as the words flow on. So beautiful, yet so empowering. It’s such a difficult task to look beyond someone’s disgruntled attitude in hopes of lifting their spirits instead of condemning them. If more people not only put forth a little more effort, but also allowing themselves to receive others kindnesses without feeling criticized, the world would be a much more peaceful place. I imagine you to be a beautiful woman with grace and tranquility and positivity shining through your smile. At least that’s what my mind sees when reading this piece. Thank you.

There are many truths here, and the way I see it, there are truths...and then there are TRUTHS that many, many people would prefer be kept secret. Your poem has one of those: “tomorrow belongs to no one...” Huge fortunes are constantly being spent on keeping the future hostage, with insurance, futures trading, arbitrage, deficits, etc. The fact remains that the future belongs to no one. It can all turn on a dime in some unforeseen way, and all of that scheming can fall like a house of cards. But it's enough to make a person want to give up, to see what sort of ransom is being extracted.

And that is where your dare comes in, of necessity. What else can we do?

Now see how you've said in a few beautiful words what I've been foaming at the mouth about for years? Well done, Kelly!
