Morning BrewA Poem by Kelly Scheppers...the chaos of morningMorning Brew
Wide awake , to splash warm water in my face to stumble upon three cats in the hall, to find a body warm and small curled up within a fetal position sound asleep, oblivious to the smell of coffee that warms my face and puts me in a complaisant mood, to catch the garbage men
in time to pack the lunches and iron the clothes and wipe the nose that’s running, still.
Morning brew, i need a few cups of coffee before
noon, cartoons blaring on the
tv crumbs all scattered on the floor, baby’s crying reminding me i’m not single, anymore.
