Oh the joys of motherhood. Phyllis Diller once quipped: "Parenting is not for cowards." Kelly, you've delightfully managed to spur my memories when I was a younger mother. True, there is the chaos and, as I recall, so many hours wondering if I'll ever fully sleep again. Trust me when I tell you one day you, too, will long for such chaotic moments as you ponder over your first cup of coffee on those all-too-quiet mornings.
I really enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing.

Someone said cats are like cookies...you can't have just one. I agree!
Simple and honest, just what your day involves. Im not sure though ifvi feel guilty or lucky, my morning brew is the first break at work but with no kids, my weekend morning brew is out in the new world of coffee houses..!! 🙈😅
Yes, it's work and chaos, but essential. Many of us look back at those arduous times and think how wonderful it would be to do it again, if only for a day or two. (Due to a health catastrophe, I was "Mr. Mom" to my youngest.) Though hectic at times, I've never felt more useful and important than I did then.
COFFEE! Yes, I believe the earth would stop rotating if we ever ran out. Personally, I can't even tie my shoe without having had a cup. I enjoyed going with you on your morning routine.

I wholeheartedly agree about the world stopping to rotate, in the event that we'd ever run out of it! What a thought! Thanks so much, Sam!
Yeah, a baby will definitely kill that single feeling. I can relate a bunch. I get up at 530 to start my kids breakfast and make lunches. ( I wish they all liked the same thing.) This is a truly inspiring ode to a brew I owe my life too. CD

Many Mum's will be able to relate to this and their hectic mornings juggling a dozen things at once. Nothing like a cuppa though, to get you going. Reminds me of how I used to be.

I can't imagine my mornings without coffee. Thank you, Christine!
This was so cute! Yes, I couldn't survive without my coffee either. It opened your eyes to what you were facing that day. Hope you lived through it. haha!!

I'm pulled in every direction, so my coffee time is ALL mine! Thank you, Mari!
Hi Kelly your poem reminds me of when I first got married and a baby was born. My poor wife, how us men used to take them for granted all those years ago. So glad I have changed for the better these days. Ladies should be treated as the angels they be. Nice red, my friend, thanks for sharing....Peter

There is a huge smile on my face right now. How many single women...or even women who are in a relationship, but without children....have no idea how their lives will totally change after a child is born? No one can adequately prepare you. Still, I would not give up the runny nose mornings and the crumbs on the floor for anything. I liked this one a lot, Kelly. Lydi**
