GarboA Poem by Kelly Scheppers...a Hollywood classicGarbo
She
was the
ever beautiful Marguerite in
“Camille”, the
doomed courtesan with
a glow that
propitiously shone about
her
dubbed,
the
Swedish sphinx she
rose from the silent era luminous
and breathtaking flawless
and transcendent, with
eyes you
could fall into
It
was the nineteenth century and
Garbo was dressed in
a bustle of sequined gowns, with
a flowering camellia to
her waist.
and
that is how I’ll remember her…
a
Hollywood classic who
was more Garbo than
Greta
luminous
and breathtaking, divine
for all eternity.
